This is the one I use most often it makes it nice and easy to spread on my cakes and tastes delicious!
1 cup crisco
1 cup butter ( sometimes I use parchment margarine is money is short)
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
8 Cups icing sugar (1Kg bag)
2 TBSP meringue powder (mix it with the icing sugar before you put in with your crisco/butter mix)
Mix the crisco and the butter with the vanilla and milk until all mixed up, then add your icing sugar and powder and blend until smooth. Add your color at the end until desired color is met.
VERY simple and easy!
if you want it thicker(for fillings) take out 2 TBSP of the milk.

Some of my Cakes

Well.. I have lots of cakes to do for Easter weekend.. I get to make 5 cakes for our family dinners this weekend I decided to do this cake (checkerboard Easter cake) http://www.wilton.com/idea/Checkerboard-Pastel-Easter-Basket and one of my own creations.. I am going to take a football pan and cover it with Chocolate and some lines all over it and make it look like an easter egg. I was also asked to to an 11x 15 sheet cake for all the Penner birthdays, and put on it Happy birthday everyone... I am thinking of doing pastel stripes on it with edible spray food coloring... I will post pics as soon as I am done!
